came home today to find a package from Wet & Wendy! the 'weatherwear' online store selling raincoats (stylish ones with pockets yo!) and umbrellas! turns out it was from the Frankie mag giveaway i entered some time ago :)




anyway, it's so pretty and blue and grey that i wouldn't mind some light rain to come x)

visit their store to see more rainy day goods - they also have standard/non-folding umbrellas! (and they're having a 50% off change of season sale until the 15th september!)

ummm.. WOW! you also get a leather-bound Compact Oxford Dictionary & Thesaurus and a Folio Parker Pen!

this is actually real! it came with my ngm magazine. i received one of these unbelievably-it's-not-a-scam deals once before, it was a folder with fact sheets about wild animals. too bad i'm not interested in these items..

open air cinema

watched Paul @ st george open air cinema yesterday (once again, i got the tickets from the smh newspaper subscription! originally it was for love & other drugs, but i received the tickets one day late, so i was sent another one). the film was good and fun, but i think it needed more jerk-funny moments. it was a surprise seeing jason bateman and jane lynch in it!

guess wat. today i got another free thing from the newspaper subscription! it's the INCEPTION DVD!! weeeee
and also, i went to allan's music just to check out their 20% off sheet music, and turned out that there was one more copy of washington's album!! when i went last week, they sold out already, and the person said they'll probably restock after the new year. so happy :) and the arrangement sounds exactly like the songs :D

what a good day of mail! first, my package arrived & the shop gave me a candy cane :), then notified that my bank term deposit has matured, and found that i've gotten an award from the uni, and on top of that, i received a $25 coles/myer gift card as a subscriber of the sydney morning herald!
ahhhhhhh.... c'est un bon jour!

(oh btw, i was handling a wallaby in a hessian sack last week, and when i opened its pouch, there was a joey!! i thought at first its teat was really long... but then turned out it was the joey's foot!)

that boomerang shape thing is its hindleg , and the thing with claws on the right is its arm! (when we opened the pouch wider it was like moving its fingers and going "nooooooo *twitch fingers*")
its eyes were still closed too!
it really doesn't do the cuteness/amazement-causing justice as in real life. it was quite hard getting a good pic, since we didn't want to open the pouch too wide, seeing as it's still hairless and all - and we learnt that joey's are basically fused to the teats when they are newly born... and not sure when that stopped happening. anyway... you can see the black dots where the whiskers will be!!
yea it does look kinda scary here. but the real thing was so cuutttteee!! made me smile in a cheek-hurting kinda way XD

yeah the ears make her look like a dog, but everything else is there :D stuffing the black wool onto her head made me realise how stupid her 'hair' print looks lol. reminds me of johnny depp in willy wonka cos that's the style i automatically think of when people say bad haircut. anyway. felt really weird when i had to shorten her neck (cos i was following instructions to make a deer) and had to basically decapitate her T___T and then rejoin it (karma.. i meant good..)

there was a book sale today - $20 for 7 books. but the topics were weirdly specific, there was one about keeping ostriches. anyway, there was a box of squishy cows and the lady near it was holding a bunch of paper encouraging people to join whatever it was, which turned out to be this 'continuing education' group for postgraduates (googled it just now). but anyhow she said, 'sign up and you can get a cow' so everyone did and then walked away squishing the cows. yes. a seriously cute and successful bribery.

THIS is the most exciting part of today.
look what package just came:

an electronic sudoku game!
i did a lifestyle survey last month for "Roy Morgan" - still haven't googled them. apparently it's very renowned. and after the interview and filling in stuff, they left a SERIOUSLY 1cm thick book with the kind of old faxes thin pages for me to fill in endless questions about my preferences: holiday (where, why, how long, future), brands i've heard about (for financial institutions, booze), what i drink (blank.), what i buy in the supermarket, what types of toothpastes i've tried/used, types of milk, sports-related questions, etc etc etc times 100 pages plus. it took me about 3 hours to fill. and also had to keep a tv, radio and mail-received diary.

back to the gift:

it's so... cool.. ahaha what else can u describe a high-tech sudoku game with?
it's a touch screen version, and batteries were included.

yesterday, kmart was giving away free friskies - which just happened to be the usual flavour she eats! so with multiple trips to eastgardens, with the many people who happened to come over yesterday... ended up getting ELEVEN:

anyway.

our backyard fence got replaced to a metal one, since the wood was getting old n it started tipping over. so now biscotti can't climb it :( and since she's an unsocialised cat, got scared seeing people in the backyard last night and ran like a stupid cat and meowed like after she got desexed or when it's raining really hard. n she jumped to grab onto the smooth metal fence and just slid and crashed back down T__T twice too T__T

n all the backyard plants have been ripped out. so her daytime sleep spots are gone... so now she disappears in the day.. and yesterday she didn't come for breakfast, but came back chubby at night... somebody might have fed her. since she's so cute :D ahahha

anyhoo. gotta study study study!

colgate-y freshness

i found the sample of "colgate weekly professional clean" toothpaste which i got... dunno when in my drawer yesterday...
it claims to have the "same ingredient dentists use".
anyways.
i tried it this morning... and after finished brushing, it seemed like the extra clean feeling comes from the fact that: the toothpaste is "concentrated"... so like using more toothpaste....
and that you have to keep brushing for a "full three minutes".

i'm not bothered to compare this to brushing with a normal toothpaste for a REALLY long and boring time and makes you have a wanting-to-regurgitate feeling since you're opening your mouth for that amount of time staring at the sink...
